Article from Sunday, May 8, 2011 Mobile Press The Village of Spring Hill's first pocket park is taking shape and becoming a reality! Check out the parcel between Regions Bank and Private Collection on Old Shell Road just east of McGregor and witness the transformation of an ordinary space into an attractive complement to the Village streetscapes that have already been implemented. Regions Bank granted TVSH use of the land, The J. L. Bedsole Foundation provided initial funding, and Terry Plauché, Landscape Architect, designed a unique and appealing mini-park in keeping with the rich history of Spring Hill. Then, individuals and businesses in the community offered generous support to make the park possible. It will undoubtedly become one of those "special places" envisioned in our master plan--an oasis for pedestrians and runners as they enjoy the sidewalks that are connecting our neighborhoods. The Village of Spring Hill is proud to bring this project to the community and is grateful for the enthusiastic support of those who have contributed to its success.Below of some of the photos of the Park being constructed. We anticipate it being finished around May 9, 2011.
