There is a noticeable air of revitalization in The Village of Spring Hill and we want to keep that ball rolling. Thank you to everyone who contributed their time, talent and financial support in 2013! Many of the projects begun in 2013 will come to fruition in 2014 and there is more 'good stuff' being planned. What a wonderful and fun series of family fun evenings this was for our Village! We would like to say a big THANK YOU to the City of Mobile and all of the vendors, sponsors and donors who came together to make this such a success. Hundreds and hundreds of families attended these movies under the old oak trees of Lavretta Park. Children ran and played and laughed from dusk until the movie's end. Folks brought their blankets, chairs, and a sense of "neighborliness" abounded.

Village of Spring Hill Sidewalk-A-Thon is a huge success!
UPDATE, July 25th: The Village of Spring Hill was able to use the money raised by this year's Sidewalk-a-Thon to secure a grant for $150,000 that will allow us to complete the sidewalks from Ridgelawn Dr. W. all the way to connect to exisiting sidewalks in front of the former Talbot's location. As soon as the paperwork is done and the requirments for bids met we plan to start construction!
Over 500 participated in the Village of Spring Hill’s second annual Sidewalk-A-Thon raising in exccess of $27,000 to be used to construct new sidewalks in the Village. The walk, from the Moorer Branch Library to Lavretta Park, was held on April 26th and led by District 7 City Council member Gina Gregory. It was an exciting event for our community as traffic was at a standstill on Old Shell Road while motorists wondered where everyone was going and why! The finish line party was filled with music, prizes, food and fun for all ages!
Proceeds from last year’s event contributed to the construction of 3 blocks of sidewalks on the north side of Old Shell Road from the front of Lavretta Park to Ridgelawn Drive West. This year’s event will fund more sidewalks beginning at Ridgelawn Drive West and continue east.
It’s not too late to make your contribution to add more feet to our sidewalks in the Village. You can send your donation to The Village of Spring Hill Inc. 4354-A Old Shell Road #145 Mobile, Al 36608
