Village of Spring Hill Accomplishments...

Received a Community planning and implementation grant from the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Development (ADECA).

Hired the renowned Dover, Kohl & Partners, Inc. urban planners who held a week-long intensive community planning workshop, the output of which was The Blueprint for Spring Hill.

Worked with Dover, Kohl & Partners and the City to develop an overlay zoning regulation that was approved by the Planning Commission and passed by the City Council unanimously. The Blueprint for Spring Hill was incorporated into the City’s overall Comprehensive Plan.

Worked with a local engineering firm and the City Traffic Engineering Department to redesign a safer, more attractive intersection at Old Shell Road and McGregor Avenue, which includes paved crosswalks, redesigned islands and new traffic signals.

Designed a plaza at the corner of Old Shell Road and McGregor Avenue in cooperation with CVS to become the town center and house the Village Clock, funded by the Carpe Diem Running Club, businesses and members of the community.

Selected signature lights, pavers, benches, and trees for the Village of Spring Hill.

Planted over 100 oak trees along major corridors in Spring Hill with help from Keep Mobile Beautiful.

Worked with City officials and City departments and State officials to help bring about improvements in the Village.
